CHILDREN & YOUTH MINISTRIES
Sad News Alert:
This summer we will NOT be CAMPING IN THE COURTYARD
Children Summer Ministry 2026 [previously known as Vacation Bible School (VBS)]
Due to low enrollment we are unable to offer this opportunity. Check back next year or reach out to Louisa/church office for connections to other opportunities in HRM.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
(For children ages 3 to grade 9)
or (902) 455-0521, x.224
Sunday School coincides with worship at 10:30am. Most of our time is spent together in faith, fun, and friendship in the gymnasium September to May for those ages 3 to grade 8. We will come together each week in our new “PRAYGROUND” area at the front of the Sanctuary. There will be quiet parallel activities to direct excess energy as we settle into the service, and our time for all ages.
Exercising a duty of care involves taking steps to avoid causing foreseeable harm to another person or their property. Please review this resource that outline's the United Church of Canada's vision for Duty of Care with Children Ministries.
Our children ministry team looks forward to hearing from you!
God Bless, Louisa <><
The faith, fun, and friendships are always free!
“SIMPLE SEEDS”
Is a small Service project that has been planted by our Sunday School. Pick as you please from our new community garden. The kids hope to offer nourishment to those seeking fresh food for their spirit through the summer and into the fall.
The little plot of goodness is located in the side yard at 7171 Clinton Avenue.
YOUTH GROUP
Sunday Evenings from 7:00pm – 8:30pm. (September - June)
All Youth in Grades 7 to 12. This is an opportunity for youth in Junior and Senior High School to expand and deepen their faith in a safe and faithful community of peers. Each evening begins with a group check-in and a theme-based discussion with a related activity such as an outreach project; followed by a time of hanging out and eating snacks, which are available for purchase. For the rest of the evening, we play games, everything from crazy run around games to community building games. The youth group plans and leads worship twice a year; during Advent with our annual Old Fashioned Christmas- a Stocking stuffing party in support of the youth at Phoenix House, and then again in the Spring at Bethany’s Jazz Vespers service. Throughout the year we also have bowling, movie and board game evenings and other fun stuff!
