Bethany United Church was excited to offer Youth Summer employment this year. Funding was received from canada summer jobs
We are most grateful to have funding support for the Summer of 2025
Message of Thanks!
Bethany United Church extends an offer of gratitude to Daniel for making a positive impact this summer with the JOY Ministry. The community of faith has known Daniel for 20 years and have watched him thrive and flourish both in his faith and discipleship. It is not always easy to offer leadership from a youthful perspective. We thank him for taking risks with a deep sense of responsibility to build community during a “slow time” of the life of a church.
It is well known that summer church attendance declines for several factors:
increased travel
altered routines
wider array of activities
leadership needs breaks
broader cultural shifts
Bethany United Church took a risk this summer to challenge the “summer slump” of a decline in connection with the life of our church. We are grateful for the financial resources received from Canada Summer Jobs grant and donations in kind from the stewardship of our working groups and members to support this ministry.
Because of Daniel’s efforts over 8 weeks we witnessed reciprocity in spiritual growth, connection, fulfillment, purpose, leadership, and development. We offer peace to Daniel as he moves into his third year of studies at Dalhousie University.
May God continue to move our community of faith to seek new ways to focus on the Word, be people of love in action and faith, and serve to heal the wounds of Creation. Daniel’s work did not perpetuate the past, it was a reflection of different intention that was daring, bold and deeply meaningful.
May we as individuals, and community, find a way to mirror Daniel’s light. May it be so.
