Daily Prayers

One of the challenges for more liberal and progressive Christians is to find a way to discipline ourselves for deep moments of connection with the Spirit. Our more traditional sisters and brothers in Christ have used daily Bible readings, Prayer Book liturgies, the liturgy of the hours, etc…to underpin their time with God. I know of some friends who make time every morning to light a candle, share a prayer and meditate on the Spirit. Other do this at night, giving thanks for the day. I find walking a deeply spiritual experience; I lift up a question that is on my heart and ask God for a response and in time a vision comes. That vision is the answer to my question.

Here are some possible ways to experience the Spirit on a daily basis.
