Bhayana Family Foundation Awards

The commitment, leadership and creativity shown by social sector community agencies and their staff is essential to advancing the common good, building community and neighbourhoods and creating a better region for us all.
The Bhayana Family Foundation Awards recognize extraordinary contributions made by front-line staff (whether paid or volunteer) at United Way partners in cities across the country.
Seven individuals in Halifax were awarded $1,000 each for their dedication, innovation and creativity, leadership, teamwork and partnership. These awards recognize the role of professional development in employee renewal and retention. In a sector where staff members go above and beyond despite limited resources, the awards are to be used by the recipients in a way that will better equip them to do their important work.
