Dartmouth Harbourfront Trail

Dartmouth Waterfront Trail is a 6.0 kilometer moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada that offers scenic views and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for walking and trail running and is best used from April until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Beginning near Alderney Landing, the Dartmouth Harbourfront Trail travels for 3km along the harbour between both of the Ferry terminals with exceptional views of the Mackay and MacDonald bridges and of the downtown Halifax cityscape. This is a paved trail, making it popular with cyclists and fully accessible to baby strollers and wheelchairs.The trail is accessbile from both ferry terminals as well as NSCC Dartmouth Campus.

The Dartmouth Harbourwalk Trail is a three-kilometre trail extending from Dartmouth’s Alderney Ferry Terminal to the Woodside Ferry Terminal. Develop Nova Scotia (then Waterfront Development), Halifax Regional Municipality and the Dartmouth Harbourfront Trails Association oversee the Harbourwalk. The trail connects to the Trans Canada Trail, Halifax’s park system, biking and walking trails, and complement continued development of downtown Dartmouth.
